Aside from the occasional doorbells from my eager neighborhood kids, I've never really celebrated Halloween. Halloween has always been a distant celebration that I've learnt through Archie comics and Disney channel Halloween movies. I was intrigued by the pumpkin carving tradition and the idea of getting candy for dressing up because the concept was a foreign to me as the La Tomatina (tomato throwing festival) in Spain.
I understand that for some, Halloween's about dressing up in hot outfits and hitting the clubs. But if I could, I'd love to go trick-or-treating instead (yes, I understand that I'm not a kid), possibly as Galadriel or Raven from DC comics, and unleash my inner geekiness!! However, I'll have to leave that for the future and instead, share with y'all a batch of flourless chocolate fudge brownies!!
I've used this recipe for a couple of times now and they always turn out amazingly moist & fudge-y!! I won't be writing the recipe here because I discovered it from a gorgeous gluten-free blog, Yammie's GlutenFreedom and the written recipe couldn't be clearer and better. So for the recipe, head over there (I've linked it straight to the brownies recipe!).
For the nuts, I used roughly chopped roasted almonds and for the chocolate chips, feel free to use white chocolate or caramel bits!! Maybe throw in a couple of salted pretzels, if you wish ;P
The best part? It only uses ONE mixing bowl and Voila! you're done.
If you could, who/what would you be for Halloween??
